Healthcare projects and laboratories often have suites of rooms which are designed for containment to reduce risk of microbiological contamination and therefore the room envelope needs to be demonstrated to be airtight. BAT has undertaken a number of these types of tests in hospitals and laboratories throughout the country.

Room construction and testing is not straightforward and BAT recommends seeking guidance at an early stage to avoid costly remedial works and retests.

BAT can also use reductive testing techniques in laboratory situations to identify structures and locations where air leakage can be causing pressure regime systems to fail.
