Regulation E4 requires school projects to be designed and tested to the requirements in BB93. Compliance with the design targets may also be required if your project is seeking BREEAM credits. BB93 design targets include internal ambient noise levels, reverberation times and sound insulation of floor and wall partitions between rooms. BAT has been providing testing services for numerous projects across the UK for over a decade and can provide expert advice on cost-effective solutions should any tests fail to achieve the required targets.

Additional costly works and/or delays to project handover may be incurred should testing undertaken at the end of a project identify constructions which are failing to achieve the required standards. To reduce this risk it is advised to get consultancy or indicative testing carried out as early as possible to identify potential problems. Please see our consultancy page for more information.
